Welcome to the Fifth Avenue Child Care and Kindergarten Service Website.
Our service is registered with the Department of Education and Training, DET to provide care for a maximum of 45 children at any time. DET also monitors the centre’s compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, 2011. The regulations cover the minimum numbers and qualifications of teachers required to work in a service.
Our centre employs 5 permanent Educators with their Diploma in Children’s Services, 1 cook with their Certificate 3 in Children’s Services, 2 casual relievers with their Diploma in Children’s Services, 1 casual reliever with their Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and 2 Early Childhood teachers (holding a VIT registration).
All educators have current:
- child protection training
- first aid certificates (asthma and anaphylaxis training)
- food safety supervision
- police checks
- working for children checks
In compliance with the regulations, the ratio for educators and children is as follows:
› 1 educator for every 4 children under 3 years of age
› 1 educator for every 11 children over 3 years of age
Copies of the National Quality Framework which includes the National Quality Standards and the National Law and Regulations are available for parents to view in the foyer of the centre.
